Eat Less, Become Smarter

Hara hachi bu.

Researchers studying Anorexia Nervosa (AN) made some startling discoveries when they compared the cognitive tests of healthy people and those with AN.

AN patients showed faster reaction times in the attention tasks, as well as increased accuracy in grammatical reasoning compared to the healthy volunteers.

The science is clear. Want optimal brain function? Limit food intake. But, how?

The Japanese have a hack for eating less. Hara hachi bu. “Eat until you’re 80% full.” 

Mindful eating. Smart.
